Online lectures by a professor from Bulgaria

In the period from April 19 to 30, 2021, Baishev University hosts online lectures by the head of the Executive Analysis and Ratings Department, coordinator of the Erasmus+ program, head of the Marketing Department, PhD, Associate Professor of the University of Economics – Varna (Bulgaria) Vladimir Zhechev for 2nd-year students of the specialties «State and Local Administration», «Finance», «Accounting and Audit» within the framework of the academic mobility program. Lectures are held on the discipline «Marketing», the lecturer told the students about the influence of the brand on the economy, current trends in international brand management, ways to create your own personal brand, etc.

Calculation of currency risk using economic models

From April 26 to April 30, 2021, Baishev University hosts online lectures and seminars by Wolfgang Boehme, Doctor of Economics, senior SES expert, for teachers of the Department of Accounting and Finance, undergraduates and students of the Finance educational program on the topic «Calculating currency risk using models» as part of the academic mobility program. The lecturer talks about investments and their role in the economy, and also shared examples of simplified measurement of the risk of the foreign exchange rate.

The qualifying round of the startup ideas competition Big Idea Challenge

On April 20 and 26, 2021, the qualifying intra-university rounds of the Big Idea Challenge startup Ideas competition were held on the ZOOM platform. On April 20, an intra-university tour was held with the participation of Vice-Rector for Science and Strategic Development O.I. Lygina and Director of the Department of Science and Innovation B.K. Nurzhanov. The meeting on April 26 was attended by Kevin Blanchart, Head of the Creative Spark project at the University of Lincoln (UK), and Olaoye Olanrevaju, project coordinator. Participants of the Big Idea Challenge startup Ideas contest — students and young teachers of Baishev University demonstrated their presentations and videos. The members of the university jury, as well as the project manager and coordinator, gave advice on improving the participants’ video presentations and further preparation for the main selection competition at the republican level.

6th International Scientific Conference on «European Integration: Historical and Political Experience»  in Krakow

On May 26-27, 2021, the 6th International scientific conference on «European Integration: Historical and Political Experience» is being held in an online format on the Google Meet platform. The conference is organized by the Institute of Political and Administrative Sciences of the Krakow Pedagogical University (Poland), the event was co-organized by the Nikolai Gogol Nizhyn State University, Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University, Uzhhorod National University and Baishev University.

On behalf of Baishev University, the Vice-Rector for Science and Strategic Development, Associate Professor, Ph.D. O.I. Lygina made a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference and noted the peculiarity and importance of European integration. At the plenary session, Director of the Department of International Relations, Master of Science in Economics Zh.T. Yeriyazova made a report on the topic «The relationship between pension reform and retirement age: the example of European countries».

Within the framework of the conference, a sectional meeting was held, which was attended by undergraduates of our university of the 1st and 2nd courses of OP 7M01731 «Foreign language: two foreign languages»: Indira Korganbaeva, Natalia Penner and Daria Penner-Nasibulina. The participants of the section made informative reports on current topics: «Organization of elective courses in secondary school», «Different ways of expressing linguistic politeness in intercultural communication», «Modern approaches in the development of trilingualism». The participants outlined the goals of elective courses, as well as why it is being studied, what needs of the subjects of the educational process it satisfies, what exactly the teacher and students will have to work on when studying the course. At the end of the hearing of the reports, a discussion was held at which the participants of the meeting were able to ask their questions.

Workshop on the roadmap for 2021 with British trainers

On May 27, within the framework of the Creative Spark project of the British Council, a workshop on the roadmap for 2021 was held with British trainers: Sian Priam Director, Master of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship, Goldsmiths, University of London, Nicola Turner, Junior Lecturer, Goldsmiths, University of London, Master of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship.

During the seminar, the topic of project sustainability and work on educational resources in the creative industry were discussed.

Cooperation with the Jizzakh branch of the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan

On June 11, 2021, a meeting was held between the Vice-rector for Science and Strategic Development of Baishev University (Kazakhstan) O.I. Lygina and the Deputy Director for Research and Innovation of the Jizzakh branch of NUU (Uzbekistan) A.R. Akhatov on the ZOOM platform. Representatives of the two universities discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of research activities, academic mobility of teaching staff and students, development and implementation of joint projects.

In December 2020, Baishev University and the Jizzakh branch of the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding.
